Jason Bartziokas

A 2004 graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Bartziokas's new body of work mixes 16th-century European aesthetics with contemporary notions of painting creating work that is innovative yet firmly rooted in historical traditions.  Bartziokas is representative of a young generation of artists looking back at its roots with compelling results.

Influenced by artists like the Italian Renaissance painter Caravaggio, Bartziokas's new body of work captures the atmospheric, haunting quality of these masterpieces while still introducing a contemporary approach to painting.  Bartziokas uses airbrush techniques found in the auto body customizing industry to create contemporary works. ffeeling o
