Prescribed burn, Buller Pass, Spray Valley Provincial Park, 2012-2013
Forest Fire Kootenay National Park, 2003
It is this stark, almost monochromatic world that has drawn John to this place. Working with a medium
format digital camera, lenses designed for high resolution capture, and tripod, the images are filled with
detail. The formal composition, compressed picture plane, and lush surface reference painting and drawing
as much as photography.

These images are printed on Moab Entrada cold rolled paper with Ultrachome pigment inks to ensure long term
archival stability.
