1936 - rolling along
Ted was born in Holland and emigrated postwar as a teenage boy
to Canada in 1955. He has proudly called Calgary, Alberta home
Ted`s working life was as a truck driver and he has always had an
admiration for the arts and artists such as Ken Danby, Robert
Bateman and Folk Artists such as William Kurlek. Ted could always
be found sketching comic figures of his family and friends and of
Alberta`s cowboy and farming culture.
He has been inspired by Quebec folk wood carvers to evolve his
humorous drawings into the third dimension as wood folk art
sculptures. In his retirement his creative flare continues to grow
and entertain those around him.
